Will uncontrollable latency in the new GFX repls be a factor when judging the game jam?
posted to Ask by joshwood

Hella Good points made here, the latency is a bit bad and even very simple things like a 2d cube can lag a bit, a 3d cube can take it to its limits but still it is in its beta stage from what I can tell and they did say it would get better, but the fact that it isn't yet makes me think they might update it before they actually judge the games, to be honest it might just be them testing the GFX engine on a large scale, makes sense to me.

but that's just a theory
a gfx theory

how do you do an if statement with python
posted to Ask by dragonhunter630

Just to make it more simple:

if cool == true:
   print("I am cool")
else:
   print(" :( ")

Also it dont matter if you use "These" for a string or 'These' Its the same

I mean its cool and all but it seems like it was hastily put together, missing textures and poor optimization, and plus you didnt even build the engine from the ground up like most people did. you had a whole month to make this and yet its a bit poorly put together next time i would try to plan it all out, and this also violates rule 3: "games must be developed on repl.it and run on repl.it"

This is not me being mean im giving an opinion if you dont like it thats your own opinion and you have all rights too have one.

Is there an actual trophy like in the picture?
posted to Ask by coderash

@amasad tbh the winner should get one with the bitcoin, but the others get a medal with text that says things like: best platformer award, or : best text based game award

3D Python Turtle!

@Jakman I mean some python modules, like turtle, its a slow and old module, not meant for giant or complex projects, but I think its fun to push these modules to there limits, and get a working program out of it!

Python function coding
posted to Ask by Anonymous135

@TimothyAnderso1 Also, you can put any code want into the ( ), this will be a custom thing so like: oof('test') == oof(string)

Python function coding
posted to Ask by Anonymous135

aight so:

You can replace FunctionName with any name you want

def FunctionName(test):
print(test)

FunctionName("hello!")

output:
"Hello!"

how do i figure out my dogs age
posted to Ask by goop0711

Aight so:

year = input('Dogs birth year:')
print('your dogs age is:', year)

using a comma after text, allows you to insert variables into print functions like so:

variable = "Hello!"
print("Test:",variable)

Output:
Test: Hello!
