I don't believe that your index.html can access the dom of your site. I think you have to do what you did with the Join message, and send a response back to the client. I don't have a lot of experience with jquery, so I cant help any more than that, sorry.
I just recently did a login system, i used a html form with getElementById. it worked out pretty well
How would you find every palindrome, since you would need every one to compare. I know you can find a palindrome based off a number, but those skip a lot of numbers.

I agree with Highwayman, local storage is your best option here
If you want to add a image, use the html <img> tag. Set the image you want to use using the Src attribute. Set the src to a file you have uploaded to the repl, or a external image hosting website.
It seems to work fine for me, what is it not doing?
