Why does stuff like this get up voted? This justs kills projects that people actually put effort in.

How do I do this?
posted to Ask by AhmadShaheerSha

Very simple, use the .replace command.

String = input('what string: ').lower()
Letterchange = input('change what letter: ').lower()
Tochange = input('change %s to: ' % Letterchange).lower()
String = String.replace(Letterchange, Tochange)
print(String)

Using Web APIs in Python
posted to Learn by LeonDoesCode

Looks great, very well written. I have never used an api or even though of using it but now i am going to challenge my self to make a weather application that grabs the current weather. Thanks!

https://repl.it/@bossotron13/Weather-API

Edit: You should also include how to use an api key because most places do require that.

Problem with code
posted to Ask by ReginaldTan

tscore = int(input("score:"))
if tscore >= 200:
print("pass")
elif tscore <= 199:
print("fail")

The issue happens because the else is followed by an expression, when you want to do that it would be a elif (else if) the other issue is you had your signs in the wrong places.

You: =<
Correct: <=

I posted the correct code up top but if people that know more than i do can explain it better go ahead :)

Edit: if this helped you, mark it as a answer

Other users cant edit/create files
posted to Ask by dylanfyyg

@dylanfyyg ill attempt to show you how to connect to a DB, and show you how to change and delete files but you have to do the messenger alone, I've never done a messenger app before so you would have to ask someone else, my idea seems very inefficient and would be more of a mess when you actually create it. Ill make a post on how to use Mongo DB in python later on today.

Other people cant edit your repl.it files even if they run your code, you would have to connect a Database and just use that. I can help with the DB if you want

adding one to a number
posted to Ask by hipstersgo

@hipstersgo i see your issue now, you are trying to add a integer to a string. You need to convert the variable Number to an int. I googled it because i don't know ruby so try adding this before you attempt to add 1 to number

Integer(number)
*somecode*
var2 = number + 1

If you find this as the solution press the check mark next to my comment

Remove line 4 and replace line 5 with this

var2 = number + 1
