that simply isn't true. I could break my back for 20 hours a day at 2 jobs at minimum wage and make literally hundreds of times less than a CEO on vacation. the way you make money is having money, and some people don't have money. @bwoop
come on, you must know not everyone can start a business. in order to start a business you need money which a lot of people just don't have because the amount of work you put in is not equated with the amount of money you make @bwoop
@bwoop > if the rich people didnt work, how did they get the money?
I explained this above. they sell the products workers have made and then take a huge chunk of the profit made by it
with the exception of inherited money, the rich normally have worked much harder then their employees
ceos make a couple hundred times more than minimum wage. it is absolutely absurd to say they worked a couple hundred times harder.
how would they have the money to pay their workers if they did not earn enough to pay them in the first place?
workers wouldn't need a boss to pay them if they controlled the means of production, they could get the money directly from the selling of their product, or not have money at all and just get the stuff they need as they need it.
I hold a lot of issues with this article but I'm just going to talk about this point because it's very important to me.
where does that come from? oh yeah, the rich. people who worked hard and busted their asses to get that money get treated unfairly and have to give more of their money to the unsuccessful or lazy people who didnt have the same business sense or marketing skill that they do, and that, in my opinion, is not right.
rich people do not work their asses off. they are not any more significant to the economy than workers; indeed they are less so. rich people do not produce goods, workers do, and the goods workers produce are then taken by the rich, rebranded as their own, and then sold so that the rich person can make money instead of the worker.
this system is inherent to capitalism, and short of just burning the whole system down, a good way to recirculate that money back to those who earned it -- the workers -- is to get that money back through taxes and invest in community programs. I'm no fan of biden, but let's not lick the boots of our rich overlords either.
