Code Jam #10
Hey, there fellow replers! Today we're announcing the repl.it community Code Jam #10.
What is this?
These are one of the community managed hackathons where you are asked to develop something based on a theme within a period of 2 days.
The theme on which you will be asked to develop something will be revealed along with the announcement of the jam's beginning.
The jam will begin on 24th November 2020 at 10:00 PT or 18:00 GMT. The participants will have 2 days to work on their submissions and the jam will end on 26th November 2020 at 10:00 AM PT or 18:00 GMT.
Why should I participate?
Well, most importantly, you get to practice stuff you have learned, and make a real-world project using your newly learned knowledge, have a fun competitive experience. And as for the prizes, the jam winner will get a special role on our Discord server along with the chance to get a custom emoji of their choice added to the server and finally 1 month of free hacker plan!
How do I get in?
That's the easy part. Just fill out this form and consider yourself in!
But I don't know what language I will be using.
That's easy, you can create any language's repl right now, paste its link in the form. During the jam, if you decide you want to change the language, you can delete the repl you created just now and then create a new repl with the same name as the repl you created just now.
- Create a new repl named
Jam-10with the language
But you decided to use Node.js instead of Python 3.
- Delete the repl named
- Create a new repl and name it
This way, the same link you submitted in the form will work for the newly created repl now.
And that's it for today, comment down below if you have any further questions and I will try to answer them to the best of my abilities. See you on 24th November with the topic of the jam! Have fun and stay safe in the meantime!
Ah! It's themed? I was hoping that I could do something in Quil, but it doesn't have IO, just state probabilities... I don't think you can make a themed Quil program without making an entirely new modified version of Quil... I'm currently the only Quil programmer on Repl.it though... (I made a basic tutorial though! Part 2 coming soon too!) LOL!
@RayhanADev Sure! Actually, part 1 of my tutorial is out now! https://repl.it/talk/learn/Quantum-Computing-and-Quil-for-Python-Programmers-Part-1/78347 I'm planning on making part 2 soon and then a tutorial on how to make a quantum computer simulator in Python!
@AmazingMech2418 oh well I didn't look into the post lol I guess you're still the only one (not that I can't fix that)
I think you're on the wrong place for quantum computer development (or simulated quantum computer), repl isn't really suited to that high accuracy and memory intensive stuff
But is the jam going to ask us to do something very advanced like make an os? Or is it going to be intermediate level?
