Hello everyone! Let's use this thread to get to know each other. Just say hi and a few words about who you are, maybe what are you building or learning with Repl.it.

Hello guys, I'm Mary from Brazil. I'm 25 years old, I just got my degree in Computer Science, during college I learned C, Flex, Bison, Java, Ionic, Typescript, Assembly (the basics) and SQL.
Since I'm a linux enthusiast I always try to learn things by myself, so I learned bash script, python3, R language, LateX...I loveeeeeee Regex!! I also learned english by myself so I'm sorry for any mistake haha.
I found repl.it trying to compile C code (because I don't know how to use Windows anymore, so I don't even know what software use to execute code there) and since then I'm in love with it.
Anyway, I hope we can be friends and that I learn a lot from you.

@MARIELLYTAMIRES Hi Mary, welcome! You might be the only one here who loves regex :( I die a bit inside every time I have open up regexpal. Maybe you can turn us over to the light side - what do you love about regex?

@timmy_i_chen Yeah, I always see people saying "If you have a problem and you can resolve with regex, then you have two problems." but I never saw regex as something hard to understand, I love finding paterns...Like, you can find paterns and use it in your favor, amazing isn't?
I even use sites to play with regex, check this http://alf.nu/RegexGolf
Anyways, I use regex when i'm programing in python and when I have to use in C, I use flex to parse.

@MARIELLYTAMIRES Oh man RegexGolf is great, thanks for sharing :)

I think the frustration around regex isn't so much the pattern matching - at least for me, it's the dissection of all the symbols and trying to understand how they work.
