Drag the file from your computer to the blank space in the file structure pane (where main.py is located)

I think one clarification might be in order. One sees main.py when opening up an existing program file in repl.it. Thank you for your answers and your assistance

Open the hierarchy (looks like a paper)on the left, and click the three dots in the upper corner. You then select upload file/folder.
