This is exactly what it sounds like. I want to make a programming language, and it would be cool to have a group of people to help develop it. I would prefer to write it in Python, but I could also write it in C++, JS, or Node. I personally have experience in parsing and lexing, OSDev, assembly, and basic compilers. Specs are up for debate. If you are interested, reply to this post. If enough (2-3+) people join, I will start a Github repo and a Discord server to allow easier management and communication.
could you explain how this would go? it sounds interesting
@thecrabempire basically, a group of people would just divide and conquer the task. You would need to write a lexer to split input into tokens, a parser to make tokens into a more readable format (a tree), and a evaluator to either interpret or compile the code. Ideally, each person in the group would simply work on what they knew how to, and the end result would be a language.
