How to Get 100+ Upvotes 👍 (Real Facts!)
How to Get 100+ Updoots in Share
A Satirical Tutorial
Hello people this tutorial will cover all the basics and some advanced techniques on how to get easy upvotes on your share posts.
(Please note that this is a satire and not meant to offend or downplay people and their creations)
Basically the Share forum of Repl.it is a lot of spam, but sometimes you'll find something good. But what makes it worthy of being noticed? Is it high-effort? or is it the type of project? Well that's what this tutorial is about!
Also, why should I care about upvotes? Well they get you cycles, useless internet points that only people who don't have meaningful things to do try and obtain. Now on that note, onto the tutorial!
Please note that all this information is based on facts and statistics, not just senseless conjuring!
What Language Should I Be Using?
Well based on simply scrolling through the top posts in Repl Share, you can see that Python is the language that gets that most upvotes!
But why is that, well a couple reasons:
- Most people on Repl.it learn Python or are learning Python, so most of your audience doesn't care much for C++ Repls, or Ruby Repls, or PHP Repls.
- Python is the easiest language, and arguable the most widely taught language
So Step 1, make a Python Repl Project! Onwards.
Okay, Now What Do I Make?
Using more current data, posts that easily get upvotes aren't ones that have real utility (such as a Repl.it User Searchbar), but instead console games! All your popular posts are easily created, low-effort, console games.
It's pretty easy to create these, simple nest if statements like so:
def main(): choice = input('You are at crossroads, what do you do [L/R]? ') if choice == 'L': print(You died) else: choice2 = input('You turned left. Now you are at another crossroads, what do you do [L/R]? ') if choice2 == 'L': choice3 = input('Wow, it\'s the end, want to play again [Y/N]? ') if choice3 == 'Y': print('Oke, restart the Repl') else: print('Goodbye! Make sure to upvote!') else: print(You died)
This will generate an error because Rayhan can't Python
This of course will only get you an easy 5 or 6 upvotes, to get 100+ you need to add console colors, you should add a good story, and of course you should have ASCII art. A combination of this and less than a day's worth of work will get you on the path to 100+ upvotes.
Your best friend here is current trends. Making a console "simulator" or console "test" that relates to something relevant and popular will get you instant upvotes!
Also, be sure to plagarise popular code to make projects that are out of your league. Please don't plagarise projects. Plagarisim is a serious problem that will be dealt with severely.
So Step 2, make an if-else console game, using some simple techniques! Onwards.
Alright, I'm Ready for Posting, What Do I Do?
You my friend are on the last step to getting 100+ upvotes. Now let me give you some pointers:
- Use Markdown
- Beg for Upvotes
- Use screenshots of your game and random memes
- Bad grammar
- Make it sound better than it is
- Talk for longer than needed
- Ping Random people
- Say it’s your best game
And that's all you need to do! Very simple, and remember nobody will look at your post but in case they do it should look good enough to fool the mods into not taking your post down for spam!
So Step 3, create a post that is very click-baity! Onwards.
Congratulations, you are ready for 100+ Upvotes!
You reached the end of this tutorial, amazing! Now go out into the world with your new knowledge.
About this Post
This wasn't made to offend anyone, neither was it made to downplay some amazing Python projects, simply to show how flawed the Repl Share system is and how projects that have actual meaning are never fully appreciated. People put lots of work into projects, and when they choose to share them please give them the attention they deserve.
Doing everything in this tutorial won't get you 100+ upvotes, but there are several parts of this tutorial that do have real proof and have real effects.
Rayhan ~ @RayhanADev
Good at JS and 3D Stuff
Eli ~ @elipie
Eli is an intelligent boy who knows Python, C++, HTML CSS & JS, Node.js, and Unity, he is learning Ruby and Rust.
Tronsi ~ @realTronsi
Better than all of us, good at everything.
@DynamicSquid ‘s Method:
1. Be squid
2. Make web game
@DynamicSquid ’s Alternate Method:
1. Be cookie
2. Be on repl.it 40 hour a day
@Jeydin21 ’s Method:
1. Be nyan
2. Go wheeeeeee
Thanks for reading, anything I should add, let me know in the comments below! Have a good day!
Step 1 - Be squid
Step 2 - Make web game
Step 3 - Stonks
Step 1 - Be cookie
Step 2 - Be on repl.it 25 hour a day
Step 3 - Profits
@RayhanADev Interesting... Well, Coder100 spends 40 hour a day commenting and answering questions, but I don't think any of us want to spend our time like that so I think we're gonna have to go with your ideas.
Oh maybe, what if one of us becomes CEO of repl.it and awards themselves more cycles than Coder? I think that would work!
To answer the question why coder100 has so much cycles I would like to tell you somethings I observered:
1) users who are popular get more upvotes
2) clickbait with all the
[ GAME ] tag stuff
3) script kiddies like him
As an example for #1: his poet with a private repl got like 7-8 upvotes before he relized and publiced the repl, proving the point popularity affects cycle gain.
I am a spammer. A robot. I am copy pasting this everywhere. UMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. Why is everyone roasting @Coder100
Step 1 - be red
Step 2 - get everyone to think you're sus
Step 3 - make half-decent repls that no one likes :(
Step 3.5 - notice that a billion people already had that idea for your repl and made it 10000x better :'(
Step 4 - look at all the big guys and regret going in meta
Also, why should I care about upvotes? Well they get you cycles, useless internet points that only people who don't have meaningful things to do try and obtain.
yea so don't make a tutorial about it
All your popular posts are easily created, low-effort, console games.
False. Many popular projects (popular being +100 cycles) are NOT low-effort and are actually very good.
Also, be sure to plagarise popular code to make projects that are out of your league.
SMH don't joke about stuff like that plagiarism is serious
Beg for Upvotes
Ping Random people
they do it should look good enough to fool the mods into not taking your post down for spam!
mods are smarter than you think, they will take down a post with the help of the reporters (who report posts)
@RayhanADev eli came up with the joke before me?! I told the joke to Moca way before I told it to you lol
Anyways you forgot the part about
- creating alts to upvote for you
- being 9 yrs old
- saying its your best game
- make 20000 sequels
- make a tutorial on how to get 100 upvotes
- start being an actual good coder
- get no upvotes
- cry in depression
- realize you were an idiot child
- laugh about it
- realize repl is full of children
- leave repl
1) Create 100 different email accounts
2) Create 100 different repl accounts
3) Eat 100 cookies (crucial step here)
4) Use those 100 repl accounts...to do absolutely nothing and try to make a decent program instead.
or just upvote your stuff 100 times
Hrmmm my 3 step plan:
step 1) be famous on repl talk
step 2) make bad quality posts
step 3) post often, but not too often
1) be cookie
2) post must be click baity
3) post like once a week
, and delete any posts the don't trend to delet the evidence
UMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. Why is everyone roasting @Coder100
Repl.it should add a page called High-Effort, and moderators move things that are high effort into there (tutorials, templates, share posts, etc;) and then the High-Effort gets on the Trending page, while the moderators have to search for very low-effort posts. Maybe a new role called Helper that they can help the mods with finding low-effort posts.
Good at everything Rayhan is bad at
Please add more specifiaction.
Like so :
Eli is an intelligent boy who knows python, C++, HTML,CSS,JS, node.js, and Unity, he is learning Ruby and Rust.(xd)
(plz dont add thiS)
