tl;dr: My first Repl project is a text-base simple RPG game. More will be added later so comeback every now and then :)

Hello all!

Battle Pets is a text-based classical RPG styled fighting game. Create a pet, battle weird enemies from different towns, level up and learn new skills. There's maybe not too much to it yet, many things don't have much differences (wave/flame or other moves not having resistances yet), but hopefully if I keep working on it, soon enough it will become a game for great fun. I've made a semi-decent save code function, so even if you want to return you don't necessarily have to start over.

I'm ALL OPEN to any suggestions, criticism, ideas, improvements, or offered help. I'm new and wish for any community involvement I can get.

  • After a pet faints, you can now summon one of you other pets, given one is still alive.

From 0.3.0

  • New Battle UI, featuring HP/MP bars!.
  • Moves re-coded, unifying them, and making them easier make.
  • New Area, New Enemies, New Moves!
  • New 🧸 Toy and 💎 Gem items!
    • Use gems to upgrade elemental moves!
  • Inventory Size can be increased by beating Area 3, 4, and 5 bosses.
  • Capped MAX MP. You can now only get up to 30 MAX MP by leveling up.
    • IVs still go up to +10, meaning Max MP essentially capped to 40.
  • Level capped at 85.

Great game. Would love to see if it could be autosaved and you wouldn't have to copy everything. Also, you can make moves before the turn happens. for example, my snare and flame combo does over 25 so I just press 2 and type pass then press 3 then I can just sit back, relax, and watch... Great mechanic so I can save a lot of time

Yeah getting an autosave would really help. I have to look up stuff on how to do saves online (new to repl.it). As for making move "shortcuts" as you described, that is a pretty cool idea and I'll take it into consideration. There's still a bit I want to add to the game (party mechanics, story, progression, and balancing whatever i can lol). @Gameknight2169
