What An Ideal Post Should Look Like

What an ideal project should look like

No, I am not talking about this post but the key things mentioned in my program

How to use

The program is pretty self-explanatory

General

I have tried my best to remove all spelling errors but if you find one, please feel free to add a suggestion or add a comment.

The code towards the end might be a bit messy and I am currently making it prettier.

Anyway, enjoy, and if you are making a post, feel free to comeback to this one and view the recommended aspects, or check out the recommended posts in the
"Examples of an ideal project"

I know I have probably missed something important and that is why I made the suggestions section so add the suggestion there

Just FYI your suggestions doesn’t work

Kopamed (213)

@NoelBryan It just a suggestion on how a repl.it post should look like

NoelB33 (263)

I mean your suggestions feature, through suggestions.txt @Kopamed
It doesn’t work because it doesn’t save when a user leaves. Maybe use a database?

Kopamed (213)

@NoelBryan Hmm this is strange. I have looked at the code and everything should be fine but for some reason it is not. I will let you know when it is fixed

Kopamed (213)

@NoelBryan Ok, now I don't think the saving issue is my fault since I have been using it on repl for ages, but i figured out a solution anyways.

Kopamed (213)

@NoelBryan Btw, when you said

Maybe use a database?

what do you mean a database? Do you mean a .json file. I tried that and I still get the same save error.

johnstev111 (79)

@Kopamed I know what it is... it's the fact that a normal users can't save to YOUR repl

Kopamed (213)

@johnstev111 Try it now following the instructions in the program. It should work. You can write anything you want since I will remove it since its a test

johnstev111 (79)

@Kopamed I added two tests and a real suggestion

Kopamed (213)

@johnstev111 Did you press

run

after the project quit?

NoelB33 (263)

It’s because after a user quits any repl, the files return back to normal. You will have to use a database like mongoDB. @Kopamed

Kopamed (213)

@NoelBryan @johnstev111 Oh well... But thanks for spotting the bug. You can both have 3 cycles for that!

johnstev111 (79)

@Kopamed Well, my suggestion anyway was that you should add the fact that you shouldn't beg or your answer to be selected for the same reason that you shouldn't beg for upvotes

NoelB33 (263)

@Kopamed
Or you could just do

print(“Leave your suggestions in the comments!”)
Kopamed (213)

@johnstev111 It is already there in the main menu. Just enter "3"

johnstev111 (79)

@Kopamed Actually, you could try it with MongoDB

Kopamed (213)

@NoelBryan Yeah ill do that nad mongodb. Ty!

NoelB33 (263)

Yeah, and now there’s a great tutorial for mongoDB on the hot page! @johnstev111

johnstev111 (79)

@Kopamed I know, but about beging for correct answers

johnstev111 (79)

@NoelBryan I know... i created an account a few minutes ago from that very tutorial - I got the idea form there

NoelB33 (263)

Same I just created an account @johnstev111

johnstev111 (79)

@NoelBryan The people behind it are probably going Why are we getting so many new users?

Kopamed (213)

@johnstev111 @NoelBryan 10 new users is probably nothing for them.

johnstev111 (79)

@Kopamed I made my suggestion because of this comment:

on this post of mine: https://repl.it/talk/ask/Im-making-a-thing/37122

Kopamed (213)

@johnstev111 Bookie0 is infamous for begging for cycles. His reason why he does it is because other people do it. https://repl.it/talk/ask/Why-is-begging-for-upvotes-so-effective-on-repl/37066
