My first coding project! - How to make a healthy smoothie.

I made a recipe with an ingredients list and preparation list on how to make a smoothie. And if you hover your mouse over the "Ingredients" or "Preparation" title, the icon beside it becomes larger.

I saw this ad on YouTube. About a free 5-day coding challenge by CodeInstitute. I sounded interesting, so I gave it a try. And it helped me a lot! It learned me the basics of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. And I used those on this recipe website.

It's nothing crazy, but I'm a bit proud of the project because I never thought I could do anything like this.

Hope I can get some feedback :D

Tasty... I mean, nice!

Help me learn, I am literally like a bird straight out of the nest with zero knowledge but a lot of interest

@Mariah416 What I recommend you do to learn is to do the same thing as me. Look up 5-day coding challenge, and they will teach you how to make a website like the one I just made. It's completely free. And you only use 1 hour per day for 5 days.

Thank you so much for this reply. Most people would over look it or just kinda give a nonchalant answer. I shall definitely try this out and try to get better :) I really do appreciate it @MartinStavland

Awesome job! I would definitely be proud of this! Especially since you had to learn THREE LANGUAGES to do it? Thats a real accomplishment! I'm proud of you :)

Great website! One thing to note is that since html is Hyper-Text-Markup-Language it is a "Markup language", and not a "Programming Language". You should be wary of using the term in tough biker bars full of computer scientists!

MartinStavland (10)

@superpeter Okay, thanks for the information. I'll be more careful next time

mwilki7 (152)

@superpeter id call it a programming language
falling under the declarative programming paradigm

superpeter (2)

@mwilki7 Seems legit... but according to Wikipedia declarative still has to do with logic, just not flow control. HTML is basically very advanced Microsoft Word.
Anyhow, saying that you're coding in HTML is a meme by now.
P.S. What does this say about writing a python program that is just XML (I believe that's the python markup language library).
Edit: Reading further into it, I guess HTML is a declarative programming language, so I guess those memes are false.

@superpeter The basic principles of what programming is all about are still there. You’re telling a computer what a web page should look like and it does so.
