My first program
It’s my first program so don’t judge.
Good start! I hope you build on your knowledge of coding!
@ipastrano Why C++ 11?
@AncientBison you mean why do I use it? It has more features than c++11, but i interchange a lot. Do you want me to teach you?
@ipastrano I mean that you use C++ and C++ 11 are they very different?
@AncientBison no, they are basically the same, think of c++11 as an update to c++. They just added a few more features. The teaching offer still stands :)
@ipastrano No thank you, One day I will learn but for right now i'm sticking with java to do class-oriented coding.
@ipastrano Do you like Java?
@AncientBison Can't say, I never learned it
@ipastrano It is very similar to C++ you probably could understand and write it with no work (It is almost the same thing)
@ipastrano Why did you unvote your comment?
@AncientBison because i can
@AncientBison As one who knows (knew) both C++, and Java, might I inform you that C++ has plenty of classes? The basic structure in C++ is a class.
@StudentFires Does C++ have Tests?
@AncientBison Might I ask what you mean by "tests
"?
@ipastrano My laptop died :p I went to my computer but it did not want to do anything that day :)
@StudentFires Like a way to debug easily.
@AncientBison C++ has a debugger.
This is a beautiful first program for anyone
Nice start!
Ok I understand your new and all I'm not saying your bad, but how did this get 40 upvotes?
print("Who are you?")
name = input("what is your name? ")
age = input("how old are you? ")
print("Oh! So you're {0} , But your {1} so I can't trust you. OK bye!".format(name,age))
@pysaundary Not many people know about format but I like format alot :)
@AncientBison lots of people know about format my friend.
@AncientBison just not beginners usually
@Jakman Ummmm......... not many people know how to code so a percentage of them know python and a percentage of them know format...
@AncientBison oh. I thought that you meant only programmers. also formatting is in every language man.
@Jakman really
@AncientBison I dont think so
@AncientBison yeah almost all middle to high level langs support string formatting.
@Jakman True I do.
@mo2409 cool.
@AncientBison f string are better
@Ganesha1 I agree
It is good though.
I like it ;) I'm pretty basic myself. I look forward to your future programs...
Thank you so much for the support!
thats incorrect grammar. it should be you're, not your.
@AmIGoodAtChess dunno, are you good at chess?
@AmIGoodAtChess It should be fixed. Thanks for the help!
@AmIGoodAtChess *That's incorrect grammar, it should be you're, not your.
And you don't have hacker plan!!!???
Your first program and 33 upvotes! Congrats!
@DannyIsCoding how are your idea for goose 2 going?
@CodingCactus I have the idea, now it's work in progress. I plan on making it the 300 cycles special. Thanks for asking!
@DannyIsCoding good luck
@CodingCactus Thank you! but the work is gonna go a little slow, because of online school.
@DannyIsCoding ye, same here lol :)
You may use the last format string option proposed by Python :
print(f"Oh! So you're {name} ! But your {age} so I can't trust you. OK bye!")
This is a good first program!
For a first program, this is great!
Cute
Nice program! Just one point that annoys me as a perfectionist is that it's "you're" not "your"
@AWESOMENESS_555 Saw that too.
4 lines of code gets 30 upvotes, but this awesome tutorial about advanced variadic templates that took days to write only gets 2 upvotes...
@DynamicSquid Pff lmao. I was gonna separate that soon, maybe start a C++ series next month. @KadenKestler would you care to join?
DS, did you even read it?
@DynamicSquid I like how you advertise your things on large posts also... your correct.
@AncientBison It's not mine, it's @StudentFires. And I'm not talking about his post only, there are many great underrated tutorials out there.
@DynamicSquid I did not mean to be mean.
@DynamicSquid Are you going to do a 300 cycle special?
@AncientBison i never said you were mean, and no, maybe a 500 one though :)
@DynamicSquid I am sorry i thought that is what you meant and happy 300 cycles
I approve of all but the "your" which should be "you're".
Sorry about the grammar policing but I'm too cool not to help :)
Awesome @KadenKestler!!!
I'm starting Python Turtle and you can use the tutorial videos on your home page down below.
Good job this was a pretty good one
A fix would be to use int(input("How old are you?"))
instead of a normal input()
Use INT and INPUT for Age then it will be better
dis is noice for a first repl, good job
Thank you so much for the feedback! I’m gonna try and learn JavaScript now.
it's cool!
good
Good For Beginner I Like Your Creation
you're*
nice i wonder why every new programer writes python not js...
@AncientBison it was the first program I stumbled across and it was easy for me to find a beginner’s tutorial. In the future I will probably try to learn JavaScript too.
@KadenKestler I like python but JS has a wider range of usage like in HTML pages(Websites).
@AncientBison thanks for the info! Python is more basic so it is better for people who have never coded past block coding like scratch jr.
@KadenKestler No.... Python's simplicity is a downside. I wouldn't recommend beginners to learn it.
@DynamicSquid I agree, It is quite hard to do many things that can be easily achieved in JS like a aspect of time.
@KadenKestler I used to make alot of scratch and stuff but It had to little diversity like with Python v.s JS
@AncientBison No, I don't mean that. It's just that Python doesn't have types, various arrays, not any of that. Even js is similar to python. On the other hand, a language like Processing has those things, while still being easy to learn.
@AncientBison Aspect of time is easy in Python WDYM?
@mo2409 setTimeout()
@AncientBison Yea, What about a setTime socket?
@mo2409 it is easy sleep
Ya! But It Is Said In Few Years Python Will Be Mostly Used In Apps,Programs&Softwares,Websites,A.I,Deep learning, And For Making Automatic [email protected]
@AncientBison no...
node.js is without html!
you should learn it!
it's so ez
@AncientBison

@AncientBison Our school considers it an easier program for people to learn... however I like js and java more.
@KadenKestler I subject to learn the HTML,CSS,JS in the begining because you can make web pages
@Ganesha1 :p
@AncientBison Right though?
@sojs :p Your profile picture is literlay the node js logo!
@AncientBison Guess my favorite language...
@sojs Node JS is amazing!
@AncientBison totally true
@AncientBison Javascript is a bit harder
@LOUISCAO Only a bit...
Py is awesome @AncientBison!!
@IndyCarter Python is a great language JS also great i am not trying to be mean to Python
@AncientBison But for kids or teens, its a bit hard to understand.
@LOUISCAO I was 7 when I learned python and two months later I learned The Web Languages (JS,HTML,CSS) and PHP
@LOUISCAO But my friend who is ten does not even understand basic scratch.
Yeah @AncientBison Python is very very very good
@IndyCarter I think it is as good as JS!
py better @AncientBison
@DynamicSquid I agree, but I have to say, the JS syntax is a little weird. I can't say that C++ is a good beginner lang, but u know...
