Repl Backup - Restore your deleted repls
h
PDanielY (982)

Note: It only works for repls that were created after May 14, 2020.

Introduction

I just finished a program that allows you to restore repls that are deleted. I've had this idea for a while and I've finally made it. Some people may be wondering how it works and I will tell you in the next section but all you need to do is enter the path of the repl (example: @PDanielY/Repl-Backup) and it will provide you with another repl created and then just fork that repl.

How its works

When you create a repl, it stores it in a database, and then every time you add a file or change a file it updates the database, and then when you delete the repl, the repl isn't deleted from the database, and then you can get it back. That's why it doesn't work with repl created before May 14, 2020, but if you have an API key you can restore repl created before May 14, 2020. (Sorry for the bad explanation)

You can also just use the official CLI to restore your deleted repls https://repl.it/~/cli

@mat1 so I just spent 40+ hours creating something that I didn't need to

@PDanielY Hey, it's still a good repl, give yourself more credit. Plus, you've probably learned more things in the process of making it.

@ChezTacoz I don't know why it did that. It isn't even connecting to localhost

I get a lot of errors. Also cool project.

@Baconman321 You're not supposed to run it. You're supposed to go to the URL. (https://Repl-Backup.pdaniely.repl.co)
